Amit Lodha’s Early Life
Bihar’s Supercop spent his childhood in Jaipur, Rajasthan. He completed his schooling at St. Xavier’s School in Jaipur. He was a sharp kid for the entirety of his school life. While growing up, Amit was really allured by the thought of becoming a civil servant someday. However, in Class 12 he shifted his goal toward cracking the IIT Exam. With sheer hard work and luck, Amit was able to clear the entrance exam of IIT on his first attempt. After clearing the IIT Entrance, Amit hit the lowest phase of his life. He was a victim of constant ragging by his seniors in his college. Things got even worse when he developed an inferiority complex and started doubting himself which substantially affected his grades.

After finding himself a complete misfit at IIT, Delhi, and having a terrible college experience, Amit began the preparation for the Civil Services Exam. Luckily for Amit, life had planned something special. He successfully passed the Civil Services exam and in 1998 joined the Bihar cadre as an IPS officer. Although, Amit’s life was even more challenging post joining the police force. With an increasing rate of crime in Bihar at that time, Amit had the mighty task of coping with the crime rate whilst flourishing his police career.
Amit Lodha’s Personal Life and Family
The 48-year-old Bihar IPS officer is part of a small happy family. His parents are proud of all of his achievements and so are his brother, wife, and children. It is known that Amit’s maternal grandfather was an IAS which is one of the major reasons for Amit’s inclination toward anything related to civil services. While growing up, Amit’s Father ( Narendra Lodha) used to work at Sawai Mansingh Hospital as a doctor. Amit’s brother who is apparently younger than him is also known to be working as a government employee.

Amit Lodha’s Police Career
After the completion of his training, Amit got the designation of ASP in Bihar Police. During this time Bihar was rotten with crime and criminals, kidnapping, theft, and murders were plaguing the state. While reminiscing about that time, Amit said in an interview that even Doctors and Engineers did not want to visit Bihar because of the crime rate there back then. However, Amit’s fierce attitude and dedication to his work made him strong enough to face any kind of challenge. He solved all the cases he got with utmost courage. It is said that Amit even asked people to call his landline directly if they have any trouble.
However, in 2006 Amit was going to face one of his biggest challenges as a cop. The most infamous criminal back then Ashok Mahto’s terror exponentially increased in Bihar during May 2006. Ashok and his accomplice Pintu Mehto (Chandan Mehto) were behind the gruesome killings of 15 people in two days in Sheikhpura. Amit also revealed in an interview that the atmosphere was almost like a war in Bihar during this time.
Bihar Supercop’s Encounter with Ashok Mahto
2006 was a dark time for Bihar, with Askho Mahto’s terror in the state constantly rising. People used to call Askhok Mahto the Gabbar Singh of Sheikhpura for his terror. When Amit took the responsibility of nabbing Ashok their battle became the center of attraction. It took 3 months for Amit to finally Arrest Ashok. During this span of three months, Bihar Supercop read all of Ashok’s cases and studied deeply about him. Finally, on August 13, 2006, Amit managed to arrest Ashok. For this humongous achievement, Amit got praise from people nationwide, and this heroic act registered Amit Lodha’s position as one of the best cops in the country.
