Maharashtra NEET Merit List 2023 {OUT}: The National Testing Agency released the NEET 2023 results on the portal. Now every state will make its own merit list for state medical and dental colleges. This year, lakhs of candidates applied for NEET 2023 from Maharashtra, out of which only some will be able to pass the examination. The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Maharashtra is the official body for conducting and regulating the counselling and seat allotment process in Maharashtra. DMER will be deciding the NEET passing cut-off in Maharashtra which will be in the percentile. The candidates scoring more marks than this are declared qualified and will be named on the merit list. Maharashtra NEET State Quota Merit List 2023

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Maharashtra will soon release the NEET state merit list on its official website. A separate merit list is prepared for MBBS and BDS colleges. Cut-off marks for both courses are also different. DMER is responsible to conduct the counselling and preparation of the merit list for 85% of state quota seats and 100% of private colleges seats. The rest 15% of the seats are reserved for all Indian students which are filled through counselling conducted by the Medical Council Committee (MCC).

First of all, a provisional merit list will be prepared by the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER). Candidates can download the list on the official portal of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Cell (MHT CET). A separate merit list will be prepared for MBBS and BDS colleges. The final merit list will be released after that. The counselling process is expected to be held in the month of September. Generally, there are 3 rounds of counselling. Cut-off marks decide what will be the last rank at which admission will be permitted to the students. To download the merit list, follow the below-mentioned steps.

  • Visit the official website of the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Examination Test Cell (MHT CET) which is www.cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • Go to the medical education tab present on the home page.
  • Now, scroll to the Under Graduate section and click on the NEET-UG.
  • A “NEET UG 2023” page will open up.
  • In the notification section, there will be an option of “Download NEET UG 2023”, click on that.
  • The merit list will open in pdf format.
  • Navigate your name and roll number in the pdf and check the state rank.
  • Print and save the list for future use.

Maharashtra NEET 2023 State Counselling

After the release of the state merit list, the counselling process will begin. The online registration will start for 9820 MBBS and 3526 BDS seats, in which the candidates will register themselves and fill out the choices of colleges and courses. After that, the seat allotment process will begin where candidates will be allotted the colleges. Generally, two counselling rounds and four mock-up rounds take place. If any student is not happy with the allotted college then he/she can apply again through the next counselling round. After the complete seat allotment process, the students have to report to the allotted colleges and undergo a document verification process. During the document verification, if any candidate is found of having any forged documents or fails to present the required documents then they can be terminated immediately. After that, the admission formalities will take place and the classes will be started.
