SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination Pattern
The SSC CHSL is the Staff Selection Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Examination conducted in India. It is one of the competitive exams that the Staff Selection Commission of India conducts. The main focus of the examination is to recruit candidates for various posts in ministries, departments, and organizations of the Government of India. The examination is conducted every year and the candidates who have finished their intermediate education can appear for this exam. The SSC CHSL exam consists of three stages. Tier-I: Computer-Based Examination (Objective Type)
- Tier-I is the first and foremost stage of the exam and it is conducted online.
- Tier-I of the SSC CHSL consists of multiple choice questions which are based on General Knowledge, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Awareness.
- Tier-I consists of 100 questions of 2 marks each.
- The time duration of Tier-I is 60 minutes. The candidates are required to submit their papers in 60 minutes.
Tier-II: Descriptive Paper
- After the candidates qualify the Tier-I, they advance to Tier-II which is the second stage of the SSC CHSL examination.
- The Tier II exam has gone through various changes. Now Tier II consists of three sections which further two modules each.
- The First section of Tier II has two modules. The First Module consists of Mathematical Abilities and the second module consists of General Intelligence.
- Module 1 of the second section consists of English Language and Comprehension and Module 2 consists of General Awareness.
- A new section was recently added to Tier II, The third section also has two modules, Module One being the Computer Knowledge test and Module II being the Skill/Typing test.
- The SSC conducts Tier 2 in two sessions. The first session consists of Section 1, Section 2, and the first module of Section 3. The second Module of Section C is conducted in the second session. Both the sessions of Tier II are conducted on the same day.
- The Time duration of Tier-II is 60 minutes just like Tier-I and the candidates have a choice to give the exam in English or HIndi.
Tier-III: Document Verification
- Those candidates who qualify for all the above stages are called for the final time for document verification.
- The verification of the candidates’ documents is done in order to identify if the candidate matches the eligibility criteria.
