Teachers Day Speech Sample 1
Very good morning to the respected principal sir, teachers and my dear friends!
Today I feel honoured to stand here and welcome our prestigious teachers on this occasion of teacher’s day. Words fall short when I start to describe how important a role the teacher plays, in any student’s life. I can only say what our Vedas also teach us that
“Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu, Gurur Devo Maheshwarah |
Gurur Sakshat Parambrahma, Tasmai Shri Gurave Namah ||”
It means that a teacher in himself is a comprisal of all forms of Gods and that’s why a teacher’s place is considered above God in our society. In our history, a teacher has given utmost importance because a mother’s womb gives shape to a human body, but a teacher gives shape to human values which further strengthen our society as humanity and helps it in becoming progressive. A teacher opens a window of thousands of opportunities for students to lead them on a good path in life.
The relationship between a student and a teacher is like a potter and clay. The potter jiggers the clay to make sure there are no lumps and then models it into a beautiful art structure. Similarly, a teacher may be hard on us sometimes but at last, they only want us to become the best version of ourselves.
Dear teachers, you enroot us with the knowledge, basic values and determinism. You teach us how to face the problems in life with courage and a strong mind and heart. You have made us realise that there are infinite possibilities to make human life better not only for oneself but also for society as a whole. I will take this opportunity today to say thank you! I know that it will never be enough to repay your blessings but we assure you today that we will always follow the righteous path you have shown us and we will contribute a big part of our knowledge to the goodwill of this world.
To celebrate the efforts of our teachers, we have planned to make this day memorable for you all. Many children have prepared different performances for you. I hope we can bring a smile to your face throughout the day.
At last, Happy teacher’s day and have a great day ahead. Thank you!
Teachers Day Speech In English – 2
Respected Principal Sir, Teachers, dear friends and fellow students. Very good morning to all of you!
First of all, a very Happy Teacher’s Day to all my dear teachers present over here. Today I am feeling extremely blessed to be able to carry on this valuable tradition of our society. We all have gathered here to celebrate the day which is dedicated to our hard-working teachers. This day is commemorated on the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was the 2nd President of our country as well as a great teacher. According to Radhakrishnan Ji “True teachers are those who help us think for ourselves”. A teacher plays a backbone in the construction of society. He nurtures the naive child with his knowledge and experiences and turns it into a sincere, knowledgeable, responsible human being.
A teacher is like a candle who burns himself to lighten up the whole world. He shows us the righteous path when we are directionless. Teachers have played a vital role in educating our society and making the world a better place. Our history also shows that we have considered our teachers above all in the whole world. We all have heard the story of Eklavya and Dronacharya Ji. Eklavya gave his right thumb as a Guru Dakshina to Dronacharya Ji even without a second thought. Guru Nanak Dev ji said that
“Guru Govind Dohu Khade, Kage Lago Pay | Balihari Guru Aapne, Govind Diyo Batay ||”
It means if someday God and teacher both stand together then I will first touch the feet of my teacher because my teacher has taught me about God. And how true is this? A teacher selflessly puts all his efforts to bloom a raw seed in the right direction. A teacher can be anyone who teaches us the various phases of life. A mother, father, sibling or any other person who gives us the knowledge and guides us through the right path is a teacher.
At last, I would say that Teacher’s day is not only about celebrating our teachers but also about inculcating their values and carrying their teaching ahead to the coming generations.
Thank You.
Speech on Teachers day – 3
Respected Principal Sir, Vice-principal sir, Teachers and my dear fellow mates; Good morning to all!
We all have gathered here to celebrate teacher’s day and I feel proud to be able to welcome our prestigious teachers on this day. I want to wish you all a very happy teacher’s day and hope that this day brings you joy and happiness.
India has always been a land of great teachers. From Aryabhatta to Dr Abdul Kalam, many great teachers have emphasised the importance of a good teacher. Dr Abdul kalam has said, “Teachers are the backbone of any country, the pillar upon which all aspirations are converted into realities”. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan also said, “Teachers should be the best minds in our country”. Teachers play an important role in flourishing the coming generation and making them ready to be future leaders.
Today I want to thank all our teachers for providing us with the best knowledge and guiding us through the different phases of life. You have helped us not only in academic performance but also in inculcating the basic values and strong character of a person. Wherever we will be in our lives, we will make sure to help our nation and world to keep humanity alive. We will surely contribute to our progressive nation with the knowledge you have enlightened us. We will make you all proud and that is the best gift a student can ever give to his teacher.

But to celebrate this day, our fellow mates have prepared different performances and activities for you all. I hope you all enjoy those performances and also participate in different fun activities. We are hoping that this day will last in your happy memories. At last, I will end my speech by saying this:
त्वमेव माता च पिता त्वमेव, त्वमेव बन्धुश्च सखा त्वमेव ।
त्वमेव विद्या द्रविणं त्वमेव, त्वमेव सर्वं मम देव देव ॥
Thank You all! Have a wonderful day.
5 September Speech for teachers day – 4
Very good morning to the respected Principal ma’am, Teachers, dear friends and fellow students.
I hope you all are doing well. Today we all are celebrating teacher’s day to remember the contribution made by teachers to the development of the world. This day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. He was the 2nd President of our country and a great teacher as well as a philosopher. He always emphasized the importance of education and good teachers. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan believed that to build a better nation, a country requires better teachers and declared to celebrate his birthday as the teacher’s day celebration in 1962 and since then it has become a tradition in our country.
We have seen one more of our presidents who was also a great teacher, Dr APJ Kalam. He highlighted quality education and worked for progress-oriented education. he said that “Teachers are the backbone of any country, the pillar upon which all aspirations are converted into realities”.
A teacher does not always mean the one who teaches you the academic courses but the one who teaches you the basic values and beliefs of human life. A mother is considered the first teacher of a child because she teaches you the survival of life. A teacher and students are like gold and goldsmiths. The gold also goes through the fire and jiggers of the goldsmith but that becomes the reason for its shiny and beautiful architecture. Similarly, the teachers also punish students or scold them but only to make them disciplined and to bring the best out of them.
Our country is full of mythological stories. And in every story, a teacher is considered a top position and the most respected post. In those stories, the teachers are considered equal to God. Our culture has always taught us to place our teachers even before God. There is a beautiful Sanskrit shloka:
गुकारस्त्वन्धकारस्तु रुकार स्तेज उच्यते । अन्धकार निरोधत्वात् गुरुरित्यभिधीयते ॥
It means that a teacher can defeat darkness with the light of knowledge. Our teachers instil hard work and patience into us. They teach us how to get up after a fall and also how to stay grounded even at the peak of success. The bigger the tree grows the deeper the roots go and we are so happy that our roots belong here with our wonderful teachers.
At last, I will end my speech by saying that teacher’s day is not just about a day. It’s more about celebrating the teachings they have inculcated in us and carrying those values and teachings ahead with the wisdom of knowledge.
Thank you! Have a good day.

A very good morning to the respected principal sir, teachers and my dear friends! Hope you are enjoying the day.
First of all, Happy Teacher’s Day to all my dear teachers present over here. Today I am feeling extremely happy to be able to welcome our respected and prestigious teachers on the occasion of teacher’s day. I want to thank our whole teaching staff on behalf of all the students for being wonderful teachers all the time. We look upon you and follow your footprints. Your teachings will always lead us on the righteous path in life.
We all have heard several stories of a teacher and students from our ancient history. In India, a teacher has been considered above God. A good teacher is a basic building block of a progressive country. That is why teaching is the noblest profession in the world. Teachers are like the second parents of children who teach them how to survive the hardships of life and how to stay grounded without even having all the wisdom.
Swami Vivekanand Ji once said, “Educate and raise the masses, and thus alone a nation is possible”. Without education, a nation can’t survive. That is why many great personalities in the world emphasized the importance of a good teacher and quality education. A teacher is like a source of light which emits the knowledge of wisdom and shows the correct path amid the darkness.
Dear teachers, we hope that one day when we will go on the roads of our respective lives your learnings will always guide us. We will share this knowledge with the world to make it a better place and a more civilized society. We can’t thank you enough but today our fellow mates have prepared some performances for you. I hope that you enjoy them and have fun. It would be an honour to bring a smile to your face throughout the day.
