A great man once said, “The future of the world is neither in the history which has passed nor in the people of the country but only in the hands of the children of that country, who have the power to change the dimension of the future for good“.

Short Welcome Speech On Children's Day

Short Welcome Speech On Children’s Day

The weather is clear so is the vision of every single student and teacher who are present on this day. 14th November is not just a day of the month but is a celebration on its own. On this day we celebrate the birthday of a charismatic person, a brave leader and a humble human being.

The pages of Indian history and the scholars reflect him as a great leader and the First Prime Minister of Democratic and Independent India. But for us, the children he is much more than that. He is our Chacha Nehru. Though there were many great leaders and many days to commemorate their birthdays, there are only a few who dedicate this important day of their life to representing something else.

And if any 1st standard is thinking “why are we not celebrating Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru Day?”. The answer is quite obvious, and that is we are celebrating “Children’s day” on the occasion of Pundit Jawaharlal Nehru’s Birthday. Sometimes, I think it is not just the birthday of Pandit Nehru but it is the birthday of every child who is present here today on this day. The celebration on Children’s day is comprised of decorating the classes and school along with multiple programmes which are accumulated from group singing to solo singing in addition to that there are some theatrical shows which are based on the topic related to the life of Cacha Nehru or any random event of history which always amazes me.

In my opinion, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru is a symbol of bravery and courage. And to represent a big county like India from the front and represent it on the world level is remarkable in itself. Though I am a shy Kid by nature and I have a little crowd fear, this day gave me an opportunity to challenge myself to do something which I haven’t done before and for that, I want to say thank you to Chacha Nehru, even though you are not among us but your courage and bravery still inspires us.

Long Welcome Speech

Long Speech for the Happy Children’s day

Happy Children’s day to all children, If you are not a child it doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate children’s day. So, Happy children’s day to all teachers as well. As it is already clear, why we are here today, but somehow if someone manages to remain under the rock, in that case, I will help you. We are here to celebrate the birthday of someone special, someone we don’t share the relation of blood but still, he is an important family member in every children’s life and that person is Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

Good morning, if you are wondering that, it should have come in the front of the speech, Well actually what I said earlier is just an introduction so just hold on to your seat and enjoy the journey of Children’s day. Today 14th November 2022 is the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru which is more commonly celebrated as Children’s day. I believe before we go deep into the children’s day we should see a little history of Chacha Nehru.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the son of Motilal Nehru who was also a prominent lawyer and Indian leader. He was born on 14th November 1889 in Allahabad when India was still under the authority of Britishers. He was initially working towards being a barrister and for that, he got an education in England. When he returned he was actually working in Allahabad High court until he found a new interest and that is in National Politics.

It is not easy for anyone to consider someone else pains as their own and he did the same and became a political leader. He was not just a leader but a writer as well, He has written some of the popular books of that time like The Discovery of India and Letters from a Father to His Daughter which he wrote while he was in Prison. At the end of his history description, I would like to say that ” A leader is not the one who comes in front of you and offer you something without considering do you even need that or not but a leader is a person who comes to you listen to you and consider your pain as his/her own and work to resolve it, which was actually done by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru”.

Till now, I have told you about Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru but now let me take you away from him towards the children’s day which is his birthday so he is going to stay in our conversation so just bare with me and enjoy the speech. Children’s day is a happy day not only for the children but also for the teachers, “I know ………… mam is very happy right now because she didn’t have to check my English Grammer copy today”.

This day has its importance in everyone’s life, those who are older now were children once and as we celebrate this day with our teacher, Our teacher also had celebrated many children’s days with their teachers and classmates, I believe it takes them back to their childhood. Children’s Day celebration is no different than any other national day celebration. Almost like a week before the day of the celebration, preparation is already in progress.

Students started making singing groups like an old music band reuniting after a long time. The student who is about to perform in any theoretical show on the day of celebration is going through the show’s details like a briefing before the military lands on the battlefields. Solo singers are not trusted much because they are like a One-man Army, If they didn’t show up, the whole countdown gets disturbed. There are usually two speeches one is in English which I am doing and the other is in Hindi I don’t know who is doing. Speeches are mostly about giving brief details the regarding the significance of this day to the life of every Indian.

But the occasional teacher’s performance which could be anything from singing to a theoretical show or maybe a competitions show among the teacher, my personal favourite is teacher’s competitions because it is kind of an unusual site to see. Fortunately this year I am part of the performance show, so I already know what teachers are going to do, so if you don’t want me to ruin that for you then just bare a few more minutes till my speech ends.

In the end, I want to conclude my speech by saying that, I am very thankful for……….. mam for giving me this opportunity to open a show of this stature, I am thankful to everyone who is working so hard behind the curtain to make this day good as possible. Though we couldn’t celebrate it for the last couple of years for obvious reasons, I guarantee you this is going to be the best Children’s day celebration ever.

Thank You
