What is Blue Aadhaar Card?
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) which is the Aadhaar card issuing department of India started the Blue Aadhaar Card in 2018. This Aadhaar card is slightly different from the adult’s one as it does not require the iris and fingerprint scan of the child. For verification purposes, the Aadhaar Card of one of the parents is required. Also, the authentic birth certificate of the infant is also necessary. The Baal Aadhaar card is blue in colour and it also contains a 12-digit identification number.

Once the child turns 5, parents have to update the photograph, fingerprint and iris scan to the Aadhaar Card otherwise the card will become invalid. Initially, the Baal Aadhaar number’s validity remains for 5 years only. To continue that number as ID proof further, the required details need to be added. The government has made it free for children to update their information to the Aadhaar details.

Documents Required For Baal Aadhaar Card
For applying to enrolment for the Baal Aadhar Card, the following documents must be taken to the enrolment centre. Also, note that all the documents should be in their original form for authentication purposes. We also advise you to carry a photocopy of all the documents. Steps For Blue Aadhaar Card Apply Online
For applying for the Blue Aadhaar Card Registration, you must check the enrolment centre near you. The enrolment centre can be checked by the official web portal of the UIDAI. Also, before proceeding with the Aadhaar Card enrolment, keep the documents ready. Below, you can find the stepwise procedure to apply for the UIDAI Blue Aadhar Card. - First of all, you must go to the official website of the UIDAI which is- https://uidai.gov.in/.
- Now, you will the languages option there.
- Click on the language you want to see the homepage in.
- Now, under the Get Aadhaar section click on Locate an Enrolment Centre.
- Now, enter your state name, district name, and Village/town name and click on Locate a Centre.
- After locating a centre near you, click on Book an Appointment.
- After booking the appointment you have to go to the enrolment centre.
- The enrolment authority will verify your documents, Fill in the application and submit it.
- You will get a text message regarding the Aadhaar application.
- within 60 days of enrolling, you will get the ब्लू आधार कार्ड for your child via post.
